Saturday, July 26th (Indian Lake, NY)
Camping & Hot Showers available at our Start/Finish location in Indian Lake beginning at 4 p.m.
Dinner on your own. Staff will be at site to answer questions.
Day 1 (Indian Lake, NY ) Sunday, July 27th
Registration 8am / 24 or 48 miles /
Today we stay in Indian Lake where you can visit the Adirondack Museum or take a rural ride to
the small town of Speculator. The Adirondack Museum is the Smithsonians of the Adirondack Park
visit www.adkmuseum.org for information
Day 2 (Indian Lake to Saranac Lake) Monday, July 28th
43 or 64 miles / Today we travel up the West Side of the Adirondack Park. Choose to stop in
Tupper Lake mile 43 and visit the Wild Center or continue on to Saranac Lake for a total of 64 miles.
We will transport you and your bicycle from Tupper Lake to Saranac-Sign up at registration Sunday morning
for this option. The Wild Center is a new natural history museum with cafι and both indoor/outdoor
exhibits (www.wildcenter.org).
Day 3 (Saranac Lake to Lake Placid) Tuesday, July 29th
12 or 54 miles / Choose a short route and add a canoe or hike to your day. Our 54 mile
loop is a beautiful ride through the Northern part of the Park, this day is our most rural day and
climbs up the back side of Whiteface with a 3 mile down hill into the town of Wilmington as a reward.
Day 4 (Lay over in Lake Placid) Wednesday, July 30th
0 or 56 / Lay over day in Lake Placid or choose to ride one half of the Lake Placid Iron man
course. Lake Placid is worth taking a day off to see. This village has hosted the Winter Olympics twice,
we camp at the site of the 1980 Olympic opening ceremony where you can take a picture of the torch that
still stands there in honor of the games. Its a great day whether you ride or not.
Day 5 (Lake Placid to Elizabethtown) Thursday, July 31th
35 or 58 miles / Heading East you can choose two routes both lead to E-Town. The long route
follows the Ausable River and takes you up to the Ausable Chasm. The shorter route gives you an amazing
climb into Elizabeth Town. You just have to look back for the view!
Day 6 (Elizabeth Town to Olmsteadville) Friday, August 1st
46 or 59 miles / Traveling South we head down the East side of the Park, if were lucky it will
be a nice day for a swim at our rest stop. Choose the longer route and enjoy rural Adirondacks. The
PTO group will have steaks on the grill for us tonight.
Day 7 (Olmsteadville to Indian Lake) Satyrday, August 2nd
24 miles / The last day takes you through North Creek and up and along the Hudson River. Yes this
is where the famous river begins. Many pullovers to see and read about the history of this mighty water flow.
Arriving back in Indian Lake enjoy a hot shower and check out the sandwich shop before hitting the road.
